Mule Day Liars’ Contest

The Mule Day Liars’ Contest is a fun-filled event featuring tall tales and good clean fun. Join us for an evening of legendary storytelling where the best "liar" takes home the prize!

Event Details

  • Location: Central High School (adjoining Maury County Park).

  • Master of Ceremonies: Maury County’s own Adam Southern.

  • Sponsor: All proceeds benefit the Rose Hill Cemetery Association.

Admission & Registration

  • Adults: $5.00

  • Students: $4.00

  • How to Enter: Participants should register with the clerk on-site at the contest.

Competition Divisions & Prizes

The contest is split into two divisions with cash prizes awarded in both:

  1. Adult Division (18 and over): The first-place winner receives a cash prize and a beautiful commemorative trophy buckle.

  2. Student Division (17 and under): Cash prizes awarded for top performers.

Contest Rules

  • Time Limit: Each performer is allowed a maximum of five minutes to tell their tale.

  • Eligibility: First-place winners from previous years are not eligible for prize money. However, they are invited to return, register with the clerk, and share one of their favorite stories.
